A Few Movies About Magic
There are several movies about magic Harry potter being the most popular currently but there are other movies with magic like Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Marry poppins, and the Covenant.
These movies have different plots but all have one thing in common magic. In all the Harry Potter movies it’s about Hogwartz, a school where wizards and witches learn their way by going to classes and studying the art of magic and sorcery. As with all the Harry Potter movies there is an evil foe the main character Harry must face but the main foe is someone named Vuldimort. He shows his presence in the first couple of films through his followers then resurrects himself later.
Marry poppins is about a magical nanny that sings and makes the kids life more enjoyable and helps them learn to behave better. While she is a magician of a different sort she still hold magical powers that kids are drawn to. I know I watched her in amazement every time whe was on television.
In the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe there are Children 2 older and two younger. These children are set away to a man’s(professor Digory Kirke) house to escape a war but they are indefinably bored until Lucy finds the wardrobe. At first the other kids do not believe her until she shows them then they stumble into a world of war between the evil white witch Jadis and the valiant Aslan. In the end of the chronicles they save Narnia from the witch by having an all out war with her army and Aslans rebellion army.
In the Covenant there are four young adults who turn out to be from a blood line of Ipswich and it gives them special powers however, they come with a price. When they use them it shortens their life in the movie they find out that there is a fifth person in a blood line named chase. Chase is out to get the others and their loved ones and Caleb in the movie trys to fight back against him and ends up triumphant in the end.
So these older and some of the more recent movies about magic have one thing is common, magic. They just have very different and strange styles. That’s what makes them great films and in the end its their uniqueness that keeps us on the edge of our seat.
