Outside Sales Job Description

Outsides sales is the same thing as field sales.  They primarily make sales calls outside of the office.  Those in outside sales jobs usually meet there prospects in their homes or places of work where they do their sales presentations.

Most outside sales reps do their paperwork and cold calls in the office.  They may go in and out for meetings.  Most probably have regular meetings at the office that they have to attend.

Some reps work from home.  Some go in once a week for meetings then work out of their houses.  There are others who don’t even have an office and work out of their cars.  It just depends on the position and job requirements.

It used to be that outside sales reps tended to make more money than inside sales reps, but it’s not so much the case anymore with new technologies and enable inside reps to be more efficient and effective.  In the case of field sales reps who do business to business sales, they tend to make more money than consumer sales.

The exception to that would be personal finance sales like financial advising or selling insurance.  Those reps can make a lot of money, sometimes into the six figure range.  Usually consumer sales tends to be harder and make less money.  It is heavily reliant upon volume.

Being an outside sales rep can be a tough job.  There is usually a lot of traveling involved if your territory is wider than your local area.  Some reps have territories that are scattered across the county, which means a lot of distance and time spent traveling.

There is also an efficiency lost as well.  They spend so much time driving, in airports, in the air, and checking into hotels that they don’t have as much time to be productive as those in the office.  With the rising costs of traveling and advancement in internet technology, outside sales is becoming more rare than it was.

Choosing The Best Spiral Binding Machine For Your Business

Do you want to know tips on how you can purchase the best spiral binding machine for your binding needs in the office or at home? Then, take note of the tips I’ll be providing you here. This machine works great in creating handbooks, presentation materials, and manuals. Owning your very own binding machine comes very handy since this allows you to cut off on expenses from binding jobs especially if they are required daily. Spiral binding is a very affordable binding method that will allow you to put together multiple booklets and other types of documents with ease.

In browsing over spiral binder machines online or at your local shop, the first thing you need to consider is the type of machine you’ll need for your business. In here, you need to determine how frequently you’re going to need this tool in your work. Next, you need to consider the amount you have in hand and how much of it you are willing to spend. These binding machines are classified in two major types, specifically automatic and manual binders. The latter type comes cheaper however; this will not be of great use to you if you are faced with large volume jobs daily. This only allows you to cater to consistent and light workloads.

After that, you need to decide on what type of spiral binder you want to purchase. Whether you want to further lower costs by buying a used one or do you want to be assured of the quality of your machine by buying a new one. Typically, buying the machine brand new is a good choice however; it is never bad to consider a used one. This would be so since you can easily find lightly used machines available at very affordable prices. The best place where you can search for such deals would be at online stores.

Small Investments For Great Returns

Investors have been looking for that perfect stock or collection of stocks since the first stock exchange was created several hundred years ago. The problem is that no stock will ever be perfect, but investors can get pretty close if they allocate their assets properly. A hot thing on Wall Street recently has been making a large amount of money by trading ridiculously low stock shares, affectionately known as “penny stocks”.

These small investments have been purported to bring fantastic returns. Have they actually done so? That is beyond the scope of this article; what we are here to focus on is precisely what kind of small investments can help investors become successful. The answer is not to be found in penny stocks, nor in stocks of companies with small capitalizations.

Small investments can be found all over America, in the people who only invest using a small amount of money at a time. The truth is that slow, steady constant investing will bring fantastic returns if the dividends and proceeds are reinvested. Over time, the stock market returns an amazing amount of money overall, which makes individual small investors very happy, especially those who invested for retirement.

Small investing in this manner takes a much longer amount of time than most investors are willing to take. Yet that is the key to investing profits. Investing with small amounts of money will lead to greater profits over time because constantly investing takes advantage of market volatility. As the market drops and jumps, investors who constantly put money into the market take advantage of falling stock prices to buy companies at bargain prices.

Investors can also buy other securities using small investments in this manner, such as asset-backed securities using investment property mortgages. This is not recommended for average investors, since the mortgage-backed security market is extremely volatile.

Buying Used Vending Machines or an Established Vending Route

When I first started out in vending a couple years ago, I bought a small route with 18 triple head machines already on location. It’s easy for new people to go wrong by buying and existing vending route, most new people end up paying way too much, but I knew what I was doing, did my research and only overpaid a little bit. This is only a little bit of a joke with a lot of truth; thankfully I didn’t get ripped off too bad. Almost right at the start, I ended up having to close up about half the locations for underperforming, but I still have few of these initial locations and a couple are pretty good.

The main thing you should know about buying an existing route is that you don’t consider the value of the locations in you offer price. The purchase price should only be based on the market value of the machines and that’s where most new people go wrong. Unless the seller can provide detailed records about earnings including IRS filings then it’s best to discount the value of the locations. By the time people get to the point that they are selling their routes or machines, they usually want out fast. I say offer a ridiculously low price, the worse they can say is no. Leave your number and if they’re desperate enough and get no other offers, they’ll call.

Don’t just look for the good offers, wait for the ridiculously good offers, they’re out there if you bide you time. When you’re just starting out, it’s normal to be overexcited and want to get started as soon as possible, but shopping around will save you thousands of dollars. I just recently picked up some double head Oak used vending machines assembled and on stands for $50 apiece. They’re not located, but if you’re not familiar with Oak, they’re one of the best machines in the business, so this a great buy. The seller wanted double this, but I didn’t budge. I was a little embarrassed with my lowball offer, but the seller just wanted out, so she eventually accepted my offer. This is the type of deal you’re looking for – rock bottom prices; otherwise you might as well buy new.

If You Write It Right, Don’t Worry About Keywords

Right now online marketing is the big craze. Everyone thinks they can make a million dollars on the internet by working 30 minutes a day and following some ebook that they downloaded for free. So, they set out to do it, work at it for a bit, probably end up buying a bunch of stuff the guy with the free ebook was selling, and then give up.

But some people don’t.

Some people figure out the right way to do it. The hard way. The way that works. The honest way. But once you do that, it doesn’t necessarily get any easier. Because then you have to think of a way to fill up a bunch of articles with a bunch of great information on your subject matter.

But guess, what, you don’t have to worry about the keywords if you are writing good articles.

Let me show you an example. One of my keywords is criminal attorney Seattle. That means I’m going to be writing about things that have to do with criminal attorneys and figure out some way to work in Seattle with it. I sit down and think about what kinds of articles I’m going to write about. I come up with stuff about things you should think about when hiring a criminal attorney, what makes a good criminal lawyer, things you should do if you are stopped by the police, the list goes on and on and on.

And just by writing those articles, I should naturally get my keyword or keywords in there several times. It should just come naturally because you are writing about the subject matter. For example, this article is technically about online marketing and making money online (even though that’s not necessarily why I’m writing it). Aside from this paragraph, I already worked in those keywords several times. Google knows what this article is about (although it is honestly probably confused as to whether it is about Seattle criminal attorney or online marketing – probably a little bit of both!).

So don’t fret too much about the exact number of keywords that are in your article. Just write something good about the subject, something genuine and relevant, and your keywords will enter in naturally.

Buying guide for commercial bar stools

Buying commercial bar stools can be a very frustrating experience.  Unfortunately there are many different makes and “look a likes”.  If you see multiple chairs which look similar, a good idea is to check the weight of each bar stool.  Usually the chair weight is a good indication with regards to the build quality.  This is true as higher quality chairs will use heavier duty material such as thicker gauge steel tubing.  This is extremely important as your commercial bar stools will experience much more wear and tear compared to a home environment.

Heavier gauge steel tubing allows for bar stools which have better welding joints.  Lighter gauge steel tubing cannot hold joints over time.  The tubes themselves are also prone to bending over time.  Do not simply purchase the lowest cost chair available.  If you are stuck and cannot decide, you can also visit current commercial establishments in your area.  Speak to the facility managers and find out what brands they prefer for commercial furniture.  If the same name is coming up over and over, you should definitely explore that company further.

There is a good reason that chairs are more expensive, and usually it is because of the build quality.  Unfortunately, there are many knock offs in the marketplace.  This can be very confusing for prospective commercial bar stool buyers.  If you do not do your homework, you can end up with chairs which will break prematurely.

Check the manufacturer’s warranty and be sure to read the fine print.  If the chair is not warranted for use in a commercial environment, you may want to pass on that brand/model.  The reason for this is because the chair may not be truly made with the intention of being used in a high traffic environment.  For example, a chair manufacturer may use lighter gauge materials for home chairs as they do not receive the same amount of wear and tear.

Is There Money Available When Out Of Work

While right after losing your job may feel like one of the worst times in your life, a few months after looking for a new gig but not finding one, may be even worse.  The stress of financial pressures, a limited amount of savings, and overall feeling like a slacker can all be overwhelming.  However, while they may be sometimes difficult to obtain, there are ways to add some temporary income into your life.

One of the most common ways people look to get their hands on cash during a time without a job is through a loan.  Just because you don’t have a job means your car won’t break down, computer go bad or even be sued by a so-called friend.  Being able to obtain one of the many cash loans for the unemployed will give you a bit of breathing room in your money department.

The best place to get that wad of cash you are looking for is through a friend or family member who may have a little savings stored up.  Usually you won’t have to pay high interest rates when borrowing from someone you know, but make sure you stick to the payment arrangements since defaulting on a loan like this can ruin a relationship fast.

You may also be able to get a cash loan from one of those little “Payday Check” cashing stores you see along the side of th road.  These places will give money to almost anyone, but also have very high interest rates and service fees.  If you don’t pay back the money you should probably plan on a ruined credit score and being hauled into court for forced garnishment of your wages, once you get a job.

Like I said, there are places to get money from when you don’t have a job, but the best plan is to forgo any kind of optional expenses and just keep working the want ads for a new job.

Outsourced Payroll

There has been a strong trend towards outsourcing the payroll function in the last few years. Outsourcing has several obvious advantages like an increased amount of time for working on your core competencies and fewer staff to manage and train. However getting rid of your payroll department might not be all fun and games like some payroll service provider companies are advertising. This article will mention a few of the pros and cons of outsourcing.

We’ll hit the pros first, although they have already been well-covered by many payroll companies that offer outsourcing.

Time is money. The truth is that calculating payroll is more than just multiplying hours worked times hourly rate. Companies must abide by state and federal laws that are changing constantly and staying abreast of these changes requires a lot of time. In addition figuring out withholding, deductions, and vacation time just requires a lot of time, especially with a growing business. An outsourcing can do all this for you which frees up time for your business to focus on what your best at. This argument goes back to the classical economic theory that if we all do what we’re best at, everyone is better off.

Cost. The outsourcing companies claim that they can save you lots of money. Whether this is true or not is another story. You’ll need to do the math, but my guess is that some companies will save money and some companies will not.

Accuracy. Some organizations that outsource payroll claim accuracy gains. This is a legitimate argument because the service providing companies specialize in calculating payroll. They work for so many companies that they get quicker feedback on what is wrong and what is right. These companies may be able to help you avoid a mistake with the IRS.

Speaking of the IRS, let’s move on to the Cons of outsourcing payroll.

You are still responsible for ensuring the accuracy of your payroll taxes. The IRS has repeatedly mentioned that this is the case. If your payroll outsourcing provider messes up with the tax calculations, then you are the one responsible. Sure you can sue the company, but good luck going up against a huge service provider that probably already has a large staff of lawyers. Even if you do win, you’ve probably drained time, resources, and energy that you didn’t want to.

Firing people isn’t fun for most people. A lot of the time you have grown to know and love the people who work in your payroll department. Businesses are starting to learn that stakeholders care about more than the bottom line. People want to invest in companies that succeed the right way, without squashing everyone around them. That being said, if it makes financial sense to fire someone it still might be the best choice, but it better make a lot of financial sense and not just save a buck or two.

Outsourcing your payroll responsibilities might be an excellent idea, and it might not. You’ll want to consider the advantages (time, cost, and accuracy) against the disadvantages (responsibility and people) and make the choice that is aligned with your organization’s strategic vision.

How to Avoid Security Guard Training Scams

When it comes to finding possible employment as a security guard you should always think of the primary rule that if it seems too good to be true then it probably is. There are lots of companies out there who may claim they don’t need a license first to get an employment position. But while it might seem easier to get a post with a company who makes these claims, these promises often turn out to be dead ends. You’re far more likely to get a low paying shady job in a region that is very difficult to patrol. So don’t take the most obvious shortcuts when it comes to the official training that employers ask of you. Remember to keep yourself well protected before thinking of protecting the valuable property of other people.

If you are looking to have a career as a security guard, be sure to do some solid research so that you can avoid the scams that exist out there. There are always bad companies out there who will promise quick training and security officer jobs afterwards, but they are only hoping to trick you out of your money. Once you complete training, you might be left with a useless license and no future opportunities to speak of. So be aware of the positive or negative word of mouth that surrounds local training facilities and only choose a solid service with a good reputation. It’s not a simple journey to get to the top security jobs out there, but it is always preferable to be smart about working your way up the ladder.

Being a security officer is a respectable profession that provides an essential service that keeps people and property safe from theft. There are sometimes strict requirements when it comes to the best security officer training available. There are also key essential qualifications that future guards must have in order to perform at this job that can be very demanding at times. Unfortunately as with any other profitable venture where money is in play, there can be bad people who are on the lookout to take people’s money. So while there are plenty of respectable companies who provide a decent security training service, you should always be aware of those who might not be on the level.
