Comparing Charter vs Direct TV
One of the big cable companies in America that you may not have heard of is Charter cable. They are the fifth largest cable television provider, and serve some large cites like St. Louis. They are fairly spread out though, with not many large markets and many rural and semi rural areas. Overall, they serve nearly 6 million customers total. Charter of course competes mainly against big satellite companies like Direct TV. With more that 18 million customers, Direct TV dwarfs Charter, but of course they can potentially reach everyone in America via their satellites in the sky. So what should you consider when comparing Charter vs Direct TV.
With the economy in the dumps, cost is the main thing on the mind of many potential customers. If you already have either one of these companies for your service, one good way to save a buck is simply by switching providers. Thats because companies like Direct TV, Dish Network and others are always offering good deals to potential subscribers in order to get them to jump ship from their current provider. Direct TV currently offers a discount of nearly $30 a month for the first year, while Charter cable offers deals on their triple play bundles for a twelve month period.
The advantage of a Charter deal is that you can not only get cable television service, you can also get high speed internet and home phone calling as well. With Direct TV, you can only get video service, and still have to order internet and phone elsewhere if these products are of interest. If high definition or sports programming are your top priority, then you are better off with the satellite option. Only with Direct TV can you get the all you can watch football package known as Sunday Ticket, plus more than 100 hi definition channels.
