Fans of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ will be delighted to find a new way to enjoy the classic story, with Jane Austen fanficion. Fanfiction offers an opportunity for those yearning for more of this story a chance to read what others may write as additions to the story, or they may take advantage of their own creativity and contribute their own ideas and adaptations.
Fanfiction offers the opportunity to further embellish a book or movie that has delighted or drawn the audience. By taking a plot and staying as true to a theme as possible, and enlisting characters already known to the reader or viewer, fanfiction allows for the contribution to story lines, perhaps creating an alternate ending, or a continuation of a book or movie beyond what has already been presented. For example, a beloved character may have died or been sent away in a plot, but in fanfiction the chance to revisit this character may be taken advantage of.
It is generally maintained that to stray to far from the main characters purpose or personality is not the design, but it is certainly acceptable to change the path of this individual, and it can be fun to change a role they enjoy, or team them up with another person to give a whole new aspect to a situation.
When an author does plan to make large or unusual changes to a classic or well known story, it is helpful for an explanation of these differences to be given in an introduction for a reader to better understand the new material they are to be presented with.
Enormously popular, Pride and Prejudice fanfiction is a great way to take a beloved story and give it new life. In truth, Jane Austen fanfiction is a way for those to hated to see the book end let the story live on.
