Mother of the Bride Gifts – UK
I suppose every future new son in law feels an obligation to go out and buy mother of the bride gifts for his future, “mum”. This is a quandary for the young man as he is at a loss of what to buy. He has asked his future wife what she thinks her mother would like, but her answer was, “Buy anything. It doesn’t matter, mum will like it” He’s not convinced “Mum will like it,” is the right attitude to take.
He’s young, has a good job with a future, and impressing his bride’s mother with something she would really like is something he wants to do.
Men, in general, are easier to buy for. A man will settle for a six pack of beer or a few drinks in the pub. Women, on the other hand, are very difficult to buy for and this is why men often say to women, “Here, take this $100 and buy yourself something nice.”
Now our young, soon to be married man sits in his car wracking his brains trying to think of something. Ideas file through his head like ducks in a shooting gallery – “surf the net” a voice in his head suddenly says and he flicks open his laptop. He searches for mother of the bride gifts and finds a slew. He sees other headings in the list – mother of the bride outfits and for a brief second considers buying his future mum an outfit. The idea fades from his mind just as quickly as it came in. Frustration builds within him and the more he thinks about it the more frustrated he becomes. Another search brings up the heading – mother of the bride outfits guide, he considers clicking on that, but lets it pass.
With a sigh of finality our young future son in law drives to a local mall. He’s decided to let a shop clerk recommend something. A half an hour later he is standing in front of a glass case counter staring down at an array of gifts spread out beneath the counter’s glass – a mum butterfly jewelry case, a “thank you mum” pendant, handkerchiefs with “Mum, I love you” embroidered in the center, a silver mum earring stand and so on.
Our young hero looks up form the gems in the glass and asks, “Which do you recommend?” The young clerk smiles and in a soft voice responds, “Well, if it were my mum, she would like the pendant.” Our young man nods and with a flashing smile declares, “I’ll take it.” Ten minutes later, he is handed the gift, all beautifully wrapped.
An hour later he returns to the home of his future mother in law and hands her the gift. His bride’s mother is surprised and ecstatic. She really likes the gift from her future son in law.
If you need to buy mother of the bride gifts UK, and you have no idea what to buy them, then going to a local shop and letting the clerk help you is a good idea.
