Reimage Review: Extending The Lifespan Of Windows XP

An interesting outcome of the recession has been the prolonged usage of Windows XP as users have forgone upgrading computers and the operating system. This Reimage review highlights the pros and cons of sticking with XP and how PC maintenance software can help in running computer repair and maintenance tasks.

Even prior to the recession it was becoming popular to hang onto your old XP computers:
-    Vista was a poorly received upgrade so didn’t lure the XP users. Windows 7 arrived just as the economy bombed.
-    XP service packs have been regularly released making this a secure and stable system to use.
-    Computers from 2000 – 2003 were already performing sufficiently for most users meaning purchasing new machines was less of a necessity.
-    Cheap RAM for older machines make the older XP machines just as fast as newer boxes, and for less money.

XP users have subsequently needed support and services to maintain and repair their systems. Reimage repair software is one tool that has outshone their competitors for the XP repairs that it can achieve.

The software takes a three step approach to (i) scan your system (ii) report the faults and (iii) make the repairs.  As the scan analyzes the registry file, third party application files and operating system files it is able to fix everything from blue screens errors and corrupted registry files to trojan/virus damage and slow PCs.

The Reimage file repository contains over 20 million files relating to XP (the OS and applications) to download to your PC when making repairs. Best part of all is that the scan and repair take under 30 minutes to complete.

We will ultimately need to upgrade our OS once software vendors stop supporting XP, but in the meantime it should still be possible to keep an XP running like new, if not better.
